Hello everyone!
I'm super excited to tell you to describe the craziest week in the world of artificial intelligence yet, full of news and releases that exceeded my expectations! Let's get started!
Monday: Stanford introduced the Alpacas 7B model, a lighter and more accessible alternative to GPT-3. This model can be used on a local computer and offers performance comparable to GPT-3, "democratizing" access to large models.
Tuesday: The day was dominated by Google announcements, revealing the introduction of AI functionality in Google Workspace, promising a GPT-3-like experience in applications such as Google Docs and Gmail. In addition, Google announced the API for the multimodal PALM-E model that recognizes images and text at the same time!
On the same day, we learned that GPT-4 was launched and had been used in Bing searches for the past 5 weeks. The results obtained were truly amazing, improving the quality and accuracy of the answers provided.
Wednesday: Mid-Journey announced the launch of the Mid-Journey magazine and version 5 of their platform, offering much more realistic images and a new way to interact with the system, using full sentences. This was the most anticipated feature for the CDM Studios team!
Thursday: Microsoft announced AI in the Office 365 suite and the launch of their business chatbot (COPILOT), which uses data from Office applications to answer questions.
At the same time, the launch of Baidu's chatbot disappointed users and investors, dropping the company's stock value by 10%.
And because the week couldn't end like that, next week we have the Nvidia GTC conference, promising even more announcements and innovations in the field of AI.
In addition, the founder of Stabilty.AI, Emad, suggested that next week there will be major announcements related to Stabilty.AI
What a crazy week! I'm so excited about all these developments and can't wait to see what surprises next week has in store!
